Although it was the first time in two years that JYJ appeared on TV
as an idol group, fans were not happy with the commentary made by
Channel A’s anchors during the live broadcast.
On February 25, the Presidential Inauguration of Park Geun Hye took place at the National Assembly Building’s Center Plaza in Yeouido. As Park Geun Hye made her way over, congratulatory performances took place, including those by JYJ and Psy.
With each broadcast station streaming the performance differently with different announcers, Channel A has caught the wrath of JYJ fans due to the pointed comments made by its anchors.

Some
of the comments included, “This is JYJ. You don’t know them well,
right?” “They’re the ones that dropped out of TVXQ,” “When this song
ends, Psy will come out,” and “We will listen to Psy during the live
broadcast.”
They continued on, describing the performance as mediocre.
When the male announcer stated, “Something seems missing. It’s supposed to have lights,” the female announcer tried to better the situation by explaining that since the focus is on the president’s inauguration and the performance is outside, it is seemingly different from what would be shown at a concert.
Having been at the 2002 Presidential Inauguration, a third announcer added that it’s hard to hear the music and the atmosphere is a bit unorganized as well.

The
male announcer then said, “Compared to performances with brilliant
lights, this performance seems like singing at a karaoke room.”
As
JYJ’s performance came to an end, the female announcer wrapped it up,
saying, “Although it has an unorganized vibe, it’s very meaningful that
JYJ stood on this stage.”
Fans became quite upset at the remarks,
saying, “JYJ is not a rookie singer. They are globally influential
singers,” “Can comments like that be said on air?” “Is Psy the only
singer at this event?” and “We demand an apology.”
There were
also a lot of outcries made when most of the broadcasting stations
focused on Psy’s performance, while skimming over performances by the
other artists, such as JYJ, Brave People, Sonya, and Jang Yoon Jung.
